Social Security is a valuable program that provides a financial safety net for millions of Americans in their retirement years. However, relying solely on Social Security for retirement income can be risky. Here are some of the risks associated with relying solely on Social Security for retirement income:
Social Security Benefits May Not Be Enough
Social Security benefits are designed to replace only a portion of a worker’s pre-retirement income. The Social Security Administration estimates that benefits will replace about 40% of pre-retirement income for the average worker. This means that if your pre-retirement income was $50,000 per year, you can expect to receive about $20,000 per year in Social Security benefits. For many people, this may not be enough to live on in retirement, especially if they have significant expenses, such as medical bills or long-term care costs.
Social Security May Not Be Around Forever
Social Security is funded by payroll taxes paid by current workers, which are used to pay benefits to current retirees. As the population ages and the number of retirees grows, there may not be enough workers paying into the system to support the benefits promised to retirees. In fact, the Social Security Administration projects that the trust fund that supports the program will be exhausted by 2033. While the program is unlikely to disappear entirely, it is possible that benefits could be reduced in the future.
Social Security Benefits May Be Taxed
If your retirement income is high enough, your Social Security benefits may be subject to federal income taxes. This can reduce the amount of income you have available to cover your expenses in retirement. For example, if you are married filing jointly and your combined income (including half of your Social Security benefits) is more than $34,000, up to 85% of your Social Security benefits may be subject to federal income taxes.
Social Security May Not Keep Up with Inflation
Social Security benefits are adjusted each year to keep up with inflation, but the amount of the adjustment may not be enough to keep pace with the rising cost of living. This means that the purchasing power of your Social Security benefits may decrease over time, making it more difficult to cover your expenses in retirement.
Social Security Does Not Provide Long-Term Care Coverage
Long-term care, such as nursing home care or in-home care, can be a significant expense for retirees. Social Security does not provide coverage for long-term care, so retirees who need this type of care may need to rely on other sources of income, such as personal savings or Medicaid.
Social Security Benefits May Be Reduced if You Work in Retirement
If you choose to continue working in retirement, your Social Security benefits may be reduced if you earn too much income. This is known as the earnings test. For example, if you are under full retirement age for the entire year and earn more than $18,960 in 2021, your benefits will be reduced by $1 for every $2 you earn over the limit.
What Can You Do?
Consider building a low risk high reward home business. I remember my grandpa repairing bicycles and bring them to the swap meet for extra income. He also would sell other items he picked up at yard sales, repaired and resold them at the swap meet. I don’t know if they need the money or he just wanted to stay busy but I do know they were on a fixed income with Social Security. I admire his work ethic but today there are other options you can explore. One that I recommend is a home based business where you can work the hours you want from anywhere. Check it out here and watch the short video. Retirement Options Video
In conclusion, relying solely on Social Security for retirement income can be risky. While Social Security provides a valuable safety net for retirees, it may not provide enough income to cover all of your expenses in retirement. In addition, the program may not be around forever, benefits may be taxed, and they may not keep up with inflation. Retirees who need long-term care may need to rely on other sources of income, and working in retirement may result in a reduction in Social Security benefits. To mitigate these risks, it is important to have other sources of retirement income, such as personal savings, pensions, or retirement accounts. Working with a financial advisor can help you create a retirement plan that takes into account your unique circumstances and helps you achieve your retirement goals.
If you are in your 40’s or 50’s you may be thinking more and more about how to time the market so you can retire in the lifestyle you had planned for. If you have a 401K or an investment plan that is mainly invested in the stock market you probably feel the way that I do. Like we were hit with a brick. Timing the market so our retirement plans are at a high value the years we want to retire seems impossible. Keeping at that level during all of our retirement years is not likely. If you are already retired you know what I am saying first hand.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Most people are under funded for their retirement right now. Afterall how can we divert more money into our savings or retirement plans when the cost of living is going through the roof? In my opinion the best way to fight this situation and fix this “fixed income” problem is to plan and work to create more than one income stream for the retirement years.
Listed above are 8 different ways to create additional income streams to start flowing money into your accounts. They all have different advantages and risks. I think the best way to deal with a fixed income situation is to start building multiple income streams right now. Do it well before you need them.Additionally, it does not have to involve stopping or redirecting your current retirement investments at all.
I recommend that you focus on what is called residual income or passive income. As it says above you keep getting paid on work you already did. To me that is one of the best kinds because it is not attached to a continuation of spending the other most valuable asset you have to earn it. Your TIME!
PASSIVE INCOME BUSINESSES
Now before I even say this, just stay with me here. I suggest you start a network marketing business. Are you cringing right now?
I know many people; possibly even you, have been involved in a network marketing business previously. If you have been, then I am sure there was a good reason that you joined and that possibly that reason still exists. If you had a great experience that’s wonderful. If you had a less than ideal experience, please don’t condemn the whole industry for the action of a few people who were not properly trained. It is still one of the best ways to get additional income coming in to your bank accounts!
A very well know author Robert Kiyosaki said in his book, The Business of The 21st Century that the business model that holds the most promise for building genuine wealth for the most number of people is a business model, called network marketing.
Here are some of the advantages:
Simply start building a business asset that anyone can start today. The advantages are minimum cost to get started.
Great Residual or Passive income potential
Training is provided usually to those who need to learn some new skills.
They can now be built mostly or completely online
Use your spare time and build a long term income.
Easy process of building a business of your own.
No employees or products to buy and ship to customers.
Additional business deductions are possible as well.
The network marketing space has many companies available to you. Their older companies that have been around for 40-50+ years, like Amway, Herbalife, Shaklee and many others. I don’t always suggest that the new shiny business is the one to join. In this case however I can highly recommend that you take a look at the LiveGood Business Opportunity first.
I can confidently say that they have solved all of the main issues people have with network marketing businesses.
No high cost or starter pack to buy
No overpriced products
No Autoship or minimum purchase requirments
No 1 on 1’s or home meeting needed. Build online, easily using your cellphone
Non-recruiting income is also an option
No bugging your friends and family anymore.
The ongoing cost is $9.95 per month for your membership.
I hope you will check it out. Either way, start the process of developing additional income streams as one of the parts of your retirement planning process. It is far better than waiting to see what happens. Be proactive and do what is in your control. This puts you back in charge of fixing your fixed income.
As I have entered my 50’S I have really started to think more and more about the retirement income dilemma. The age old question, is how much do you need to retire on comfortably? I guess that assumes you are comfortable now, right?
I don’t know about you but the times I have been totally comfortable financially are far and few between. I have been obsessed since I was in my mid 20’s when I started reading books about how to be financially independent. Using calculators to determine how much money you need in your retirement years was not the answer. No matter what calculations or numbers the experts provide. The bottom line is this; More is Better than Less!
If you look at the so called experts recommendations like this article on Moneygeek there are no recommendations about adding to your income. And none about creating income streams at all. Most experts are focused on telling you how little you should take out of your retirement plans when you finally do retire!
This focus on living on less in retirement than what you did while working is a disappointing way to finally enjoy your time, in my opinion. I always thought retirement should be about income not age. When you get enough of it you can stop working anytime.
This is where choosing to generate additional income streams comes into play. I am not talking about working two jobs or even getting that proverbial “Walmart Greeter Job” once you are in retirement. NO! Creating additional income streams has to do with adding to your existing plans. Keep your social security, 401K, annuity and savings account. ADD to it by creating additional income weekly and monthly so you can keep your nest egg safe as long as possible
LIVEGOOD is one of those options and there certainly are others. You can create an Etsy shop or an EBAY store. Even go to garage sales and resell vintage items. All of these may be used to create an income stream. I think the LiveGood business opportunity is the easiest and best way to get another income stream started.
Consider The Options
If you slowly build an income stream in a business like LiveGood over the next 2-5 years and slowly generate about $2500 each month how can that help you cover your expenses? Medical Insurance? What about offsetting inflation? How about simply just using this for a more enjoyable and fun lifestyle?
You also don’t have any penalties for using it now if you want. Income streams don’t have penalties or rules that you must be a certain age to start using it. Generate it now and use it now.
The choice will be yours and you will hopefully be 2-5 years older anyways so why not start now to get another income stream going? It is easy, plus you can get access to health and wellness products at up to 75% discount from retail.
Check out my video above where I go into more details and spend a hour checking this option out. You have absolutely nothing to lose and an income stream to gain!
You may have heard about a company called LiveGood. They are revolutionizing the industry and have a simple, but powerful mission:
Our Mission is Simple
To Help People Get Healthy, And Stay Healthy Without Having To Spend A Fortune To Do It.
This company is changing the Network Marketing Industry by fixing all the problems most people have with this type of business model. Namely:
High Enrollment Cost
Mandatory Autoship to earn bonuses
Recruiting or Referral requirements to bonus
Old school traditional contacting and inviting methods
Mandatory costly “Educational Support System” to Rank or Bonus
Breaking The Paradigm
LiveGood has changed the thought process on network marketing by creating a Membership Model and a Forced 2 x 15 Matrix. I have been involved in MLM since 1989 off and on and have never seen anything like it. Like the LiveGood CEO Ben Glinksy says “When you get it. You get it!”
The time of being forced to promote and sell overpriced products is over. In today’s economy it just doesn’t work. People are looking for multiple income streams and they want to work remotely. LiveGood is built on simple concept called a Membership Club Model. You pay a small one time fee to join the “club” then $9.95 a month to have Member pricing to an amazing group of best in class health and wellness products.
Of course you also get your own business, back office and compensation plan to support a six or seven figure income if so desired. Of course you can “just” build the business or “just” buy the low priced-high quality products. There is no requirement to do either and you still can earn upto $2047 per month. Even if you did not refer a single person or buy a single product. That’s unheard of right. You can see for yourself HERE.
Proud Of Being In Network Marketing-Really?
LiveGood is growing fast with a business model that people can finally be proud of. The reason most people quit is because; how can you go to your friends and family and in good conscience try to convince them to buy overpriced products that they can get elsewhere for less just so you can build a business.
It’s a hard proposition to sustain. In another case the people we are trying to help the most are those who absolutely need the extra income and definitely need the products to maintain their health. How can we expect that person to spend money on an autoship of overpriced products; and possibly a educational support system just so they can earn an extra income. This is why most people don’t make an real money in network marketing and eventually quit because it is hard to sustain it. The priority of paying the bills comes first for 99% of people.
With LiveGood it is easy to be proud to share the business opportunity and products because the average product cost is comparable to Costco and 80% less than other network marketing companies.
Finally Making Money!
For many LiveGood members they are making money for the first time in a network marketing business. Why? Because they are proud and it’s easy to build when it just makes sense.

Welcome back. I wanted to talk about my experiences back when I was in Amway. In 1989, that’s when I first got started in it actually, and I was in it for over 10 year. And I was thinking about it this morning. I don’t know why. But, you know, I was thinking about a couple people back in the day that I worked with while I was in Amway. When I got involved in in network marketing, with Amway, I didn’t have a negative viewpoint on it. I didn’t know anything about the company when I was presented with the opportunity. I didn’t know anything about network marketing, but I thought what a great business concept this is and you know, we started learning more and building our business.
What happened over the course of time, was that the company got handed to the second generation and some good things happened when they made this next step to what they called Quixtar which was same company but under a different name. And they started moving towards online shopping concepts and more of a digital age. I remember having a little miniature CD that had a little video embedded into it was called the digital business card. I still have some laying around. And I thought what an amazing concept. This was back in the beginning when the internet was really brand new. I mean, we still had dial up Internet access, if you could believe that. And most people probably don’t even know what dial up Internet access is. It’s still a classic sound that is used if you ever saw the movie, you’ve got mail. with actors, Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. They would email each other and have the dial up sound of the modem. And it was really unreliable and slow. And so, I kind of looked at it where we were ahead of our time, because many people didn’t trust online shopping. And they were afraid to put their credit card number in because somebody might, you know, get ahold of it and their personal information and people were very unsure about it. And I think back, you know, to those times, I thought, while we were on the cutting edge. I’d already been in Amway about five years by the time that started happening. And then they kind of messed up, you know, the second generation of the family that owns the Amway Corporation took over and things got kind of messed up.
At the same timeframe, we had changes going on in our own lives, you know, and so, what I found was is that the network marketing business was fantastic, that business concept is still great. And that’s why billions of dollars are done in network marketing today. I mean, more than the NFL, the movie industry and many others combined. Network Marketing produces billions and billions of dollars. Look it up. It’s pretty impressive. There’s nothing wrong with the business concept, multilevel marketing, network marketing, it’s the same thing. But what usually screws it up are the people. You know, you look at it. I mean, we had a pretty good organization, we reached a higher level than the Amway business. And, you know, we didn’t reach financial freedom at that point in time. We weren’t diamond level or anything like that. But that was our goal. And we’re working towards it. What we found interesting over time was is that the business that was our own, it was supposed to be our own. We didn’t get to make any of the decisions in it. You know, we had an upline that was controlling what we were doing, what we could do, what we can’t do. And I’ll give you a key example of it. I was thinking about it this morning, and I think about my time in the Amway business so often and it’s mostly positive, but there are some negatives.
COLD CONTACTING? REALLY?
You know, there was a lot of things about the business concept that were fantastic, majority of them, frankly. But a lot of the people had methods that I just wasn’t comfortable with. And I found most people weren’t. I’ll give you one good example cold contacting after you’ve, shared the Amway business with your friends and family, one of two things usually happens and sometimes some of both, your friends and family either start to ignore you and avoid you, or some of them get involved with you. And you find out that they have a negative idea of Amway, and in some cases, even some family members or friends start to think that maybe you’re better than them because you’re trying to improve yourself or your situation. And I always cracked up about that. None of those people ever came to save the day for me and my family when we were having financial difficulties. But all of them had an opinion about what I shouldn’t be doing to make more money and be more successful. And yet, you know, I didn’t listen to any of them because none of them were actually paying my bills or even offered to help financially. So, if you’re in that situation, you know, look at it and think about that for a second, why listen to people that are not supporting you, financially, or helping you financially? Why should you be discouraged about doing something that improves your family’s financial future? One of the things that came out of that process is you had to learn how to cold contact, because after your friends and families, seeing the business or did refuse to see the business, whatever the case may be, you have to talk to people that you don’t know. And this is the thing here, they teach you methods that are very difficult for the average person to use. You have to be able to talk to people that you don’t know and approach people, cold and so forth. And I got very good at doing that. But they always had a thing called duplication. Everything you had to do had to be duplicatable. I used to think about it and I thought what about cold contacting is duplicatable? Frankly, nobody duplicates it. Very few do, only the leaders do. And there’s few of those, why does it have to be so difficult? And Isn’t there another way to do it?
ARE YOU PLUGGED IN?
And, you know, you really had no wiggle room to innovate or to do your own thing you had to follow the system. If you weren’t “plugged in”, then you kind of get shunned by the upline, and then they would go around you and, you know, talk to people in your group negatively about you and say that you weren’t plugged in, and it’s just a bunch of crap. And it’s amazing people start getting into a position of what they call leadership. But really, they’re not leaders. They’re just people that want to control everything, and getting your own business is about you controlling what you do and controlling your future and deciding to work when you want to and work the way you want to. Now there’s some exceptions to that. I believe in my opinion, and in my business, you need to be ethical, honest, and you have to be able to build with the right intentions. So, there are some limits there. But the as far as flexibility and innovation, I mean, that’s what people want when they start their own business. Yes, they want a pattern for success that they can follow. They can follow their leadership; they can follow their leaders into success and do the same thing that they did to get them successful. I mean, it always made sense to me. If you wanted to be a millionaire, you need to find someone who’s willing to teach you and do what they did. And you always had that opportunity. What I found over the years was that I got very discouraged with the network marketing business and Amway not with the concept but with the people. After a while you started feeling guilty, you know, as you’re in the business for 10 plus years, things change, you know, you have children, your life changes, but if you weren’t able to be as committed as other people, you may not be able to do everything you did before. I always love this; right? My main upline was in Utah, and they’d hold their functions in their own backyard, basically in in their city in Salt Lake City, Utah. And make everybody feel like crap and guilty that couldn’t spend money or time to travel to Salt Lake City to be at their major function. It was very convenient for them, but they’d make it inconvenient for everybody else and then treat you like dirt if you couldn’t be there because you didn’t have time off from work, or you couldn’t afford the travel or you had childcare issues, and they weren’t very understanding. And I thought this is not about people caring about people. This is about people that care about people that do what you say. And I don’t like that. That’s not what individual business ownership is about. So, I kind of got burned out for a long time on the idea of dealing with this because I saw several other opportunities over the years and they all have the same kind of what I call old school thinking. Do what your upline tells you or else. And if you don’t, you’re not plugged in. If you’re not plugged in, we’re not going to support or promote your opportunity meetings or your business or work in your downline or whatnot. And I thought that’s a bunch of Crap.
WHY NOT TWO LEGS, NOT SIX?
The other difficulty is, is that we had to build six legs to be a diamond level and who had time outside of working a job to build six legs? Especially here I live in California. So, you know you need a substantial income to retire from your job if you live back in the Midwest, that’s at this time or back east, and you weren’t already a successful professional with a lifestyle that revolved around that income that you were earning. And you made $40,000 a year, it wasn’t that difficult to make $40k a year in Amway and retire as a diamond without a big organization, and then try to help other people retire. Unfortunately, it takes a whole heck of a lot more people to retire at a six-figure income for a working professional in Southern California at the time, and it’s no different today, frankly, in many other states as well. So, there was a lot of unrelatability between a lot of these old school network marketers.
STILL OLD SCHOOL-YIKES!
So, over the time, I started looking for new opportunities. And I thought, you know, the best kind of opportunity is one where it’s not a set of corporate people that own the business and run the business at a corporate level. It’s about a company that’s been started, owned and operated by network marketers that understand what the challenges are, and have built a company and organizational structure and training system around the needs of the network marketer, the distributor or the affiliate, the representative that whatever your term is. And finally, after several years of looking, I thought I found that and there was a very successful network marketing person from the old Amway days who was in my upline and that was involved in that business. And the products were fantastic and they still are, I use several of them every day. However, the building style of the business is still old school, they’re still doing it the old school way. And because they have a replicated website, they think that that’s modern and the fact that’s like, you know, 10 years old technology, and they have a canned app. And you know, nobody knows how to use attraction marketing, social media. They don’t have any of the things that we have in our business that actually work, especially when people are doing things on their cell phone more and more, and tablets, laptops and their computers. And during this time when you’re under a stay at home, or how do you expand your business when you’re old school and you got to go have home meetings, one on ones, open opportunity meetings? How do you even get people to go to those things when they are allowed?
We build our business without any of those things. We have a network marketing business that’s successful with a system that is a “done for you” marketing system provided by the company for free. It doesn’t cost money to enroll in the business. It doesn’t cost money for the training system, because you want everybody to be successful. You provide that equally to everybody, not just the ones who could afford $24.95 a month. And then that’s just to buy the privilege for you to be able to buy the tools and things. And the reason why, is that there’s a lot of money in the training and tool system in network marketing. And in the business that I checked out for a short period of time, the person who’s running that training system, he’s got everybody locked into it. And basically, it’s the same old school thinking, if you’re not plugged into that training system, then you basically you can’t build your business successfully. And in fact, if you’re not part of that system, you can’t rank advance. What it was a scheme that is, I mean, that’s crazy, right? And then they don’t even give you the tools to be successful. And so, we work in a business that doesn’t have any of those restrictions. If you were in Amway before, or any network marketing company that this sounds familiar. You need to look around because what we’re doing; and there are other companies doing it too, that are started by network marketers having fast growth, great products, free training systems that are current up to date, and constantly being improved and evolved with the changing marketplace, the changing needed the distributors. And it’s unbelievable. That business that I was in for a very short period of time, they haven’t had a new product in a year. And they haven’t updated their methodology for building it since they started. They’re still doing what they did five years ago. And look at the comparison in growth. They haven’t grown. They probably have 20,000 distributors worldwide. And the company that I’m working with now we have over 800,000 in the same period of time. So, the numbers tell the story. It’s not about one master distributor making a lot of money. It’s about everybody being able to make a significant income and you just have to look at the compensation plans to get the opportunities.
THE RIGHT OPPORTUNITY IS HERE
So, if you have been in Amway or other businesses before and you loved certain aspects of it. Don’t give up on that concept that concept works but you do have to work a little harder to find companies that are doing it right. That are using methods that allow people that are already searching for opportunity to find you. That’s what I do and that’s what I teach my team. We work with attraction marketing, you know, I don’t cold contact. People that are already looking are able to find me and the opportunity and that’s the key and nobody has to cold contact. What’s more duplicatable than that? Because cold contacting is not duplicatable when people don’t actually do it and don’t feel comfortable doing it or they don’t ever get really good at doing it. How can you duplicate that? If one out of 10 and it’s probably not even that high, actually would do cold contacting successfully and comfortably and also key here, confidently. How duplicatable is that? Who wants to enroll 10 people that maybe only one out of 10, or one out of 20 even will be successful at duplicating that? And the process of “let’s just have them, enroll a few friends and family” and then hopefully, you know, they keep doing that until you find a leader is so much harder and takes so much work. And it doesn’t stay together. If you have to teach people how to do something that they don’t like doing, and that they won’t do; the business is not sustainable. And I was part of a group that had well over 800,000 people in the group, not my group, but I was part of that team. And that whole team is completely gone! That 800,000 plus people and the team of that person in Amway doesn’t exist anymore. And it wasn’t sustainable. And there was a lot of reasons for that. But we got out of that business and for over a decade I still was looking and thinking and wondering god you know, there’s got to be a network marketing business that’s awesome. That is run right and is done right. That’s what we’re doing today. And that’s what we’re teaching people how to be successful using new methods online. It works beautiful during the stay at home order, because people are still reaching out last month 24 or 25 people I sponsored personally, in the business and I did not chase a single one of them, they all found me and wanted to get involved. So, it’s a completely different thing.
RESEARCH AND EVALUATE
So, if you want to understand more about it, I’m happy to share with you if you don’t want to get involved in what we’re doing. I totally get it but I’m not pushing for anybody. Obviously, I’ve got so many things to do. Right now, I don’t know how many people I could work with at the moment. It’s really been crazy because a lot of people are looking and they want to do something from home in a home-based business. But I’m happy to answer questions and if you do have time and you want to look at the opportunity and ask some questions after you check out a couple of key videos HERE. I’m happy to talk to you about it. I just want to share those experiences if you are an old network marketer, and I don’t mean old age, but you’ve done the old school way, and you love certain aspects of the business, like Amway and others out there. I don’t need to name them because I wasn’t part of them. But you know, the ones we’re talking about. Things are different. And you just have to find the right opportunity for you. If you love what you’re doing in companies like Amway, then stay with that group. You don’t want to be jumping around, but if you’re looking, you’ve been uncomfortable, you felt guilty. If you feel bad about yourself, then, you know, make some changes, at least do some research, you need to make sure you’re always educating and keeping going. Like I said, if some of the key people in Amway are no longer in it, and they were at very, very high levels, making millions of dollars a year and they’re no longer in that business. And we were part of that team of hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people. You got to ask yourself, are there good reasons for that? And yes, there are. Things are changing, and they have changed. Some people haven’t realized that yet. But if you’re looking for something new, it’s out there, and you can find it. And we’ll help you to do that in any way we can.

Hi, everyone, this Mark, welcome back. If you’re new, please remember to like and subscribe to get notified when we add new content. We’re going to talk about why network marketers use high pressure tactics and what you can do about it. You know, I got involved in network marketing back in the late 80s, early 90s. And I was involved in the Amway business originally, and I had never heard of network marketing. Although I’m not involved with Amway anymore, I did learn a lot about how to build network marketing businesses, and we became successful using those old school methods. One of the things that always upset me about building that business was not the network marketing business concept, but the negative methods used to build it. Many people have a negative perception of network marketing, when in fact it’s one of the best business models around.
What messes it up are the people that are in network marketing business typically, and it’s because of using high pressure tactics to enroll, sponsor, or sign up new distributors/affiliates. And that was one of the things that always bothered me. I was in Amway for over 10 years. And it was just one of those things you start to get used to doing. Pushing people into the business or trying to and in the end that is because you’re completely messed up in your thinking. You don’t really think it through, you’re thinking about yourself, you’re not thinking about them. And what’s the point of that? You know how it goes. You’re trying to run for a promotion and so you panic and start pushing. A lot of times your upline they’ll have these promotions and they’re centered around sponsoring people.
Everybody knows network marketing has a high attrition rate, which means a lot of people get in and it doesn’t cost a lot of money to get in so it’s easy for people to quit. And what I found is that when we got started in the business, I was pretty excited about it. And I understood network marketing a bit. As I started to learn more, I realized it was definitely a numbers game. And I remember when I started sharing the business, I was surprised that some of the people that I thought would see it the same way, didn’t. Almost no one I knew saw the business opportunity the same way that I did.
I looked at it really simply because I had a conventional business prior to that, and you have to invest a lot of money. And, in fact, that business failed, and I had a lot of business debt, and I ultimately paid it off versus going bankrupt. I thought, why should I do that to the creditors and the banks? It’s not their fault, and that my business failed. So, you know, for a short period of time, I was very disappointed and thought, what are we going to do now? You know, I had a goal in mind as far as income and lifestyle, just like a lot of people. And I thought, you know, now what am I going to do? I’m just going to have to work a job. I can’t have a business of my own. And the thing I understood was is that having your own business is how you can get wealthy and have some level of financial independence. And so, network marketing seemed perfect for that. Because you have the income potential. And it works. There’s proven success, and it doesn’t cost you a lot of money to have or build a network marketing business as compared to a traditional business.
So, I thought this is perfect. Why wouldn’t everybody want to do it? So, as we got started, I shared it with everybody. And over a period of time, some of them got in, some of them didn’t. And that kind of turned to anger because you’re looking at it and going, how come people don’t understand it. And then you start sharing the business with other people and some of them get involved and, and you try to convince them too hard. And, you know, maybe they’re looking, maybe they’re not and one of the things when you first get started in network marketing is you’re excited and you want to kind of spread that around, and you can get your feelings hurt really easily when people that you respect don’t see what you see. And so, you try to bully them into the business. And even if they get involved, you know, they’re not going to build the business. They just didn’t know how to say no or they didn’t want to say no to you and hurt your feelings. And the ones that do say no, then you’re really upset. So, you kind of start to get belligerent and now you’re going to bully everybody and make other people that didn’t see what you see feel bad. And that’s just stupid. Because the whole thing about network marketing is you have to have the willingness to help other people be successful, and then you’ll be successful as a byproduct.
People usually have that flipped around and a lot of that comes from their upline, you know, promoting trips and so forth that are all centered around recruitment. And you obviously have to continually recruit in your network marketing business, but you don’t have to do it by being a bully and pushing people into the business and the ones that don’t get in around your timeframe. You treat them like crap, that’s not the way to build a network marketing business, but a lot of people are pushing others in that same fashion. And that’s what I think gives people a negative perception about network marketing. And so, you just have to stop doing that.
Number one, you have to admit, you’re not comfortable doing it, you know, it’s wrong. You know, it’s not the right way to do it. I understand you want to hit that promotion, or you want to, advance to the next level. You want to reach your goals, but you can’t do it by burning out everybody else around you and burning through the people and giving them a negative perception about network marketing.
It’s kind of like this, people that truly understand the network marketing, business model, they’ll love it. What they don’t love are the people in it, who continually pester them about opportunity meetings and getting involved once they have said no.
So, when I got started in, network marketing again, here a couple of years ago, I was specifically looking for an opportunity and business method, where you don’t pester people, you don’t bug them. And in fact, we use a business model that uses network marketing, but I don’t bug anybody to get involved in business with me and get on my team. I was looking at my team. I think I personally enrolled 20 people already this month and none of those people were bullied or pushed or pressured by me. All of them came to me to find out about the opportunity, all of them asked to get involved in my team. And, of course, we decided, yeah, we can work together. And so now we’re working together to help build their business.
It’s a completely different posture. And that posture is what builds teams. It’s what helps you to focus in on other people, not on yourself. And as a byproduct, you’ll have your team success, you’ll have your network marketing, business success, and the incomes will follow. And those people will have a positive experience with network marketing. And they will at least not say that, hey, you know what? I got pushed in. I got pressured in because I just wanted that person to stop talking to me about it. That’s the worst thing you can do.
You know, the best thing you can do is focus in on helping others that are looking for an opportunity. If they’re looking for an opportunity, your job is to help them find you. And that’s what I teach my team. And so, nobody has to pressure anybody. There are thousands of people out there looking, especially right now with what’s going on in the world. And you can build your business in any country, in any region that you want. And there are people looking every day. And every day there are more people turning 18 years old, that want to have their own business, you have an unlimited supply of people, but not all of them are going to be looking to get involved in network marketing business.
When the time’s right and they’re looking, you want them to get involved with you because you treated them well. You didn’t upset them, you didn’t blow them out of the business, and possibly out of every network marketing business because they had such a crappy experience because you treated them poorly by trying to push them in to your network marketing team so, you could benefit to get some level, get some trip, get some promotion. And if you just do the work and you do it right, you know, then it’s going to work. I mean, just think about if you bullied in 10 people in your business, and they are going to duplicate your methods, since it is a business of duplication.
Do you think are they actually going to go and build the business successfully, because they’re going to duplicate what you did to get them involved, and go and bully 10 other people or 100 people or 500 people, it isn’t going to work, that team isn’t going to develop. And if even if it did, it’s not going to last. What you want to do is build long lasting business relationships, building associates and building teams. That’s what you focus in on. That’s what gives it success, not the others. If you look at all your leaders, they don’t bully in anybody. They don’t wait around for certain people to get involved. And they’re not sitting there hinging their success on one or two individuals to become leaders on their team. They just give the opportunity to those that want to take it.
And it’s not just about getting them signed into the business. Especially if they actually just want to hit their promotion, or their next level. And they’re not really actually interested in caring whether those people want to spend time building the business or not. They just go back and basically beg them to get in and “help them out”, and then they leave him alone to figure things out. Wow.
What’s the point of that? Somebody ends up with products and a sign-up kit, and then they don’t build it? That’s not what network marketing business is about. Sure, people do get in and they don’t build it. That’s going to happen with anything. It happens in every business that you have out there. But what you want to focus in on is helping people and it’s kind of like this, you shouldn’t have your feelings hurt when somebody tells you no. And if you’re not pursuing them for your own ends, then it doesn’t hurt your feelings when they say no, you actually start to feel bad for them, because they don’t see what you see. And you hope that in the future that they do because you start to care about people and it hurts inside when you see somebody you care about. And you know, I see that that person or that couple has amazing potential to build a successful business. Why don’t they do it? And I know that can be painful. I’ve had that happen many times, but everybody’s in a different situation and they will come to it when they’re ready.
The best thing you can do is not pressure them continually go to the next function, or call them saying “Hey, why don’t you go to the next meeting?” And all these things are generally prompted initially by your caring, and then it kind of trickles over into I just want to get my numbers up, you know for this event or for this function and the pressure from your upline starts to come in. We work in a team where nobody gets pressured like that, where you do not feel guilty, because you didn’t have 10 new people at the next meeting or function, or you didn’t sign up 10 new people and hit some promotion, we help everybody that wants to do the work, those that didn’t do the work because the circumstances or choice. Do not get pressured or have guilt feelings about it. If they do, it’s all self-imposed. I do not put pressure on anybody like that.
I do encourage them and that’s the difference between trying to encourage and help versus pressure and push. It just doesn’t make any sense. So anyways, if you have had those experiences, I’d love to hear your comments and hear your stories, because if you’re like me, somebody has shared with you, Network Marketing and is trying to push you into it. Love to hear how that went. And hopefully, if you’re looking at this and you’re thinking, yep, I get it. Hopefully you take another look at other business opportunities. The opportunity is good. Sometimes it’s just the people that are misguided and you know they got taught by some crappy people, and they’re just duplicating it.
You can set off in a new direction without that. If you’re interested in learning more about what we’re doing and the team that we’re building and how we do it, click this link No Pressure Network Marketing and you can learn more.
Anyways, we appreciate you, and hope that this helped. In these trying times, stay positive, focus in on yourself, self-growth, focus on your family and the future. We’ll talk to you next time. Have a great day.
Most people who join a network
marketing company are excited to start sharing the products and
business opportunity with their friends and family. As they start
that process they are also learning about how the business works and
they expect to have everyone they know see what they see in it.
Sometimes they do; but many times they will tell you they are not
interested or they will wait and see what you do.
The typical response to this is to
start to pull back a bit and only share with the people who you
believe “need it” the most. Surprisingly you may find, as I did
that they don’t have any interest in getting involved in something
that can help them out of their situation. You were probably like me,
in that you assumed they wanted to improve their situation.
Unfortunately many people don’t. I had someone tell me that they
could not get involved in a business and make $2000-$5000 extra a
month because “they would lose their welfare benefits”. Yikes! I
thought that was the point.
Now if you are still “in” at this
point your sponsor or upline will tell you you need to start cold
contacting. They will show you different techniques, on how to talk
to people that you have never met before. That is where things got
even more difficult for me.
Let’s back up a bit. I was a very
introverted person who was afraid to talk to people I did not know
and was not completely comfortable talking to my friends and family
about the business. Sure the first few I was fine with, but when they
thought it was a scam or a dumb business idea that would not work, I
started to doubt it too.
This on top of my regular introverted
discomfort led me to stop building the business for a while. Most
network marketers will quit building the business at this point. Many
won’t quit immediately, but will start to fade away. Some will buy
the products and show up to everything because they enjoy the
friendship but will not share the business with anyone ever again
unless they are asked about it. Remember this last point.
I had sponsored some friends and family
so I started going into management mode with that team. This was my
way of avoiding the whole process of cold contacting. Too bad it did
not work for long because this pattern of fear of cold contacting
continued with almost everyone on my team. I thought we must only
have enrolled introverts like myself. Luckily there were a few very
assertive people who started to invite lots of people to see the
business and things started to grow fast.
Eventually I did need to start figuring
out the best cold contacting methods and had to teach them to my
team. My desire to be a good leader helped me to overcome my fears,
and I was even able to call people from the phone book and set one on
one appointments with my team to show the business opportunity.
As I grew my business I was invited to speak at business seminars and share the opportunity in hotel meetings. These groups were larger than your typical house meeting with about 100-150 people. The seminars had 400-600. Of course I was nervous but it was a progressive process and eventually I became good at it and enjoyed it.
How does all this help you? Well most
of what I have described is not how I build the business today. Two
main reasons drive that choice. #1 people are too busy to look up
from their cellphones for you to contact them and #2 people are more
leery and on guard of strangers approaching them with any type of
Today all of the methods of cold
contacting have changed significantly due to technology. I mean lets
be serious how many people go out and “prospect and contact”
people in a shopping mall, car dealership or store any more? It can
work but it much too slow and time consuming for most of us.
Over come the fear
The fear part comes from the possible
rejection of you and your opportunity. You start feeling like you
cannot be successful unless you get people into your business. So in
your mind you start needing the next person you talk with to get in.
That ends up coming through in your contact and approach and becomes
a cycle of fearful, needful cold contacting that leads to no one
getting involved in your business. You start sounding and looking
desperate and nobody wants to join you on that adventure.
Now lets consider this: If someone out
of the blue heard you were in this network marketing company that had
great products and was looking to build a business that could replace
their job income.
Would you be afraid to tell them all about your opportunity? I would guess not. In fact you probably would need to be careful not to unload everything you know about the business all at once and overload them. So what happened to the fear?
To me it always seemed different when
they approached me about it than when I approached them.
What if there was a system that has
qualified leads coming to you about your business opportunity instead
of you going to them? Sounds a lot better right? Today that is
possible through attraction marketing. I teach people how to flip the
script on this old school way of cold contacting.
Today I have about 20-40 people who
contact me daily to learn more about my products and business
opportunity. I am no longer afraid to share the details with them,
after all they asked me and they are looking. In the old school
method where you ask people you don’t know if they would be
interested in looking at a way to increase their income. Who wants to
talk about that with a stranger?
You don’t have be afraid to share your
knowledge with someone who is asking you about it. After all you are
an expert in your business and they asked you for help about learning
more. It is a great feeling knowing everyday people will be reaching
out to me to get more details.
Network marketing is still a numbers
game and not everyone who contacts me will join the business or even
qualify. But it certainly increases your odds when twenty or more
people start asking you for more information.

Yes it is possible to go broke in any MLM or Network Marketing business venture. When you first consider joining, you are excited to be starting your own business and setting some goals. Here are some tips and some honest answers to avoid going broke from the start. One of the very first things to think about is what level to join at.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I PAY TO JOIN?
Most companies today have more than one level that you can join at. The compensation plan usually has different levels of commissions. Typically the higher the cost options to join will increase your percentage of “initial” commissions. I am sure the person who introduced the business opportunity told you that you can earn more with the more expensive packages. This is true if you are serious about building it really fast.
Here’s what I tell my people. Unless you are interested in trying every product in the starter package, save your money. I am sure not many leaders will tell you that. That being said, it is important to make sure you understand your product line and are using some of them so you can share your personal experiences. Additionally most companies have a minimum amount of volume you need to generate either from retail sales or personal usage to stay active. Don’t over buy!
I have not seen where buying the most expensive package translates to people building the business any more or less that anyone else. People still quit at the same rate no matter what. There are exceptions to this for people who are really ready and experienced at sharing products and business opportunities from prior MLM experience. Most people don’t get that fast of a start and the next month your volume has dropped because you are the only one on your team still. The commission payout levels don’t stay high when your volume falls. Plus you can earn your way up the commission scale by building your business. This is done by adding customers and distributors. Which is better, and costs you less. You can always order more products in other categories later on.
DON’T OVER INVEST IN TOOLS AND SEMINARS
Every good MLM company or organization will promote a teaching system of some kind. The fact for most people is that you will need to learn some new things and a good MLM education can cost some time and money. Here’s the key. Pace yourself.
You can only absorb so much new information at a time. When you first get started you have many new things you need to learn. The reality is you can learn more by doing and making mistakes than any book or seminar. You just need to stay in the production mode for your business. This is only two things. Getting more customers and distributors. PERIOD! You don’t need any books, CD’ or seminars to get started doing that.
Yes you will mess it up. But you will learn as you go and you can always learn from your upline and that teaching is usually free. Don’t forget other free sources like YouTube videos and blog articles like this one. They are always free!
DON’T JOIN AT ALL…WHAT???
Yes that’s correct. I said to avoid going broke it may be best for your NOT to join. Let’s face it MLM or Network Marketing type businesses are not for everyone. If you don’t think you will be able to share you products and business opportunity with other people, especially those you don’t know then it may not be for you. If you really just love the products then be a great customer.
Why spend all that money to sign up, go to every seminar, read every book and listen to every CD and watch every live stream event or go to conventions if you never are going to do the things that build it? That is the way most people who claim to have went broke or lost their house and job did it. It makes no sense to me but people do join everyday and are they are not willing to learn new things, overcome some fears or simply do the work. You cannot have success on any level without some work, and investment of time and money. Think about it for a bit and then decide.
That is like paying for a college education then not ever pursuing a job in your field of study. There’s no pay back in it for you.
If you’re willing to check out the business you are looking to join and make a sensible decision about how much time, money and effort it will take to get what you want then you will make better decisions. Avoid the pressure of “getting in the first night”. Most people who use that approach are in it to hit numbers based on getting people signed up. Most companies pay a “fast start” bonus on it.
Trust me if you wait a few weeks and really check it all out. Get all of your questions answered they will still let you join. Hope this helps! For a free tour of my business click HERE!
I’ve stated a few times about how an MLM is a unique business concept in and of itself:
Low up-front costs compared to owning a small business;
Plug into an already well-established company with products, support, and training;
Constant development from successful entrepreneurs;
Unlimited earning potential;
Zero education requirement;
Automate your business through online tools;
Be your own boss.
Building Your MLM Can Last Generations
To some, it may sound too good to be true. The fact is, MLM’s are simple. However, there is a distinct difference between “simple” and “easy”. If you think about it, anything worthwhile in life takes hard work:
Meaningful relationships with loved ones;
Personal health & well-being;
Saving up for and planning travel and leisure;
Contributing to something worthwhile and fulfilling.
An MLM can offer someone the life they’ve always dreamed of. With hard work, dedication, and staying plugged in to daily, weekly, and monthly habits that generate financial freedom, it is very possible. Let’s talk about how MLM’s can provide supplemental and retirement income that last; not just today, or next year, but for years and decades to come for you and those with whom you choose to share it.
MLM For Supplemental Income
There are a few reasons why MLM businesses are perfect for building supplemental income for yourself:
Work it as a side hustle: If you’re worried that resigning from your current position would put you in an unfavorable position financially, you can begin working your MLM business as a side hustle. This means that while you begin to learn the product, develop plans with your mentors, and implement success strategies, you can sustain your current situation with your full-time or part-time job. The freedom of your own MLM business allows you to choose your own hours.
Build with your upline: In MLM, you are less of an employee and more of an equal partner. The people in MLM who are winning will expend as many resources as you need for you to win. It’s one of the greatest industries in terms of receiving the time and attention from successful people.
Build with your downline: The opportunities available to you as a leader in your MLM business are virtually endless. Time and time again, we hear about wealthy people who are unhappy. Why is this? Well, it comes down to fulfillment. Are you building something greater than yourself? Are you giving back to a worthwhile cause and developing others to do the same? The answer with MLM is yes. You can provide training, inspiration, advice, documentation, recommendations, and so much more when you make your MLM business less about you and more about helping others win. And in the end, when they achieve their goals, then so do you.
Millionaires have multiple streams of income: This rings true especially in the MLM industry. The average millionaire has five to seven streams of income, and with your team, so do you. Thanks to the MLM business model, your business volume (and therefore your profit) is generated by not one, not two, not three, but many individuals with common goals. By staying plugged in and being a leader in your team, you can create a healthy and thriving income that is as part-time or full-time as you make it.
It’s clear to see the benefits of amassing supplemental income through your MLM business. Not only that, but you are helping others to build the life that they’re after. As an introvert myself, it never ceases to amaze me that no matter how much someone likes the company of others or prefers that of themselves, how universally desired the trait of contribution is to every single human being alive.
Now, let’s look into how your MLM business can tick the boxes of both short-term and long-term wealth creation. Because oftentimes we have the “here and now” problems of today/this week/this month in the forefront of our minds.
However, when done correctly, the MLM industry is capable of providing for you and your loved ones into the future. Mind you, if it was easy, then everyone would be doing it. But with the simplicity of this business, it makes sense how your expenses into retirement can be covered:
Working while you don’t: The beauty of leverage is infinite. What I mean here when I say “leverage” is capitalizing on the opportunity of passive income. Just as Bruno Mars gets paid each time a song of his plays on the radio, or a landlord gets paid every month when rent is due, you get paid for the work you’ve done in the past. This is mainly through the monthly auto-ship purchases if you sell goods, and the monthly membership fee if you sell services. It varies from company to company, and this is the general idea. When customers receive value through your offerings, then it is a win-win situation for you and for them.
A team that lives on even when you step back: Thanks to your demonstration of leadership, development, professionalism, respect, and kindness that you have shown over multiple years, the people in your team become leaders themselves, and that’s where the fun truly begins. You have shifted from the forefront to more of a consulting role. You have garnered a series of trainings and plug-and-play instructions, as well as a thriving community of like-minded individuals who want to win, and this combination boosts the success of everyone in your business. New leaders consistently prove themselves and you are no longer required to put in as much work as before, since others are now at that level.
Creating the Life You Want
All in all, the opportunities within the MLM industry are vast and plentiful, and we are not slowing down anytime soon. It is the perfect alternative for hard-working individuals who want to create supplemental income as well as retirement income through the beauty of togetherness, quality products, and leverage.
If this sounds like a worthwhile pursuit for you and your life goals, feel free to take a no-cost tour of the MLM business I have grown to love, and learn about how it works. You can contact me at any time and I will be more than happy to help, or you can read my story and learn about my background as a person interested in generating income online using modern techniques. May you find fulfillment in doing what you love.
If you are new to network marketing or mlm, you may have been asked to create a list of everyone you know, so you can share the products and business opportunity with them. Most people actually don’t write down every name of the people they know. They will write down 5-10 names of the “easy” ones typically. These are the people that they believe need it the most or won’t laugh at them because they are building a business like this.
Unfortunately, this generally does not lead to anyone joining who will actually build the business. Yes, sometimes you brother in law will join and build, but generally the people on your friends and family list that join do so, to support you or they don’t want to tell you no. Once you have been told by people that you thought would see what you do, now what?
Warm and Cold Market Leads
Now you will be told to start talking to your warm market. These are people who are your acquaintances. People on your Facebook friends list. You don’t really talk to them in person so how do you approach them about a business opportunity? As always, I say talk to your upline for advice first. They are the ones who are there to help you directly and want you to be successful.
Using social media can be an effective way to promote your products and opportunity, you just have to do it in a non spammy way. That upsets people and they will unfollow you. Depending on your product you may also get blocked by FB & Instagram. For instance, CBD and whole plant hemp products. They are legal but FB won’t let you use paid advertising to promote them. You can still post on your FB fan page though for free.
You need to find a balance between your curated information, you own information and funny or inspiration posts to capture your audience and then be consistent with your posts so your fans look forward to your posts. You are looking to build trust so that when they are ready to take a look at your products or business opportunity, they will check out yours.
How do you generate cold market leads?
For most of us this is the make or break point in the business. If you have not built the team you will need to grow your team from the above group then you have two choices. Work with people you don’t know or quit. To many people unfortunately choose to quit. This is one of the reasons why so many people quit mlm.
In reality it is the fear of talking to strangers that kills it for them. I understand it I felt the same way when I got started. I am an introvert so it is difficult for me to get comfortable talking with people I don’t know. Years ago, there were no choices about how to do it. You had to walk up to a person and talk or call them on the phone. You remember that thing called a “land line”. For most of us it was more of a land mine. We were so afraid to use it because we thought it will blow up or something.
Now with today’s technology we can use many different ways to reach people who may be interested in what you are doing. Today I am only sharing my business opportunity with people who are already looking and who want to see what I am doing. That alone removes any fear you may have. I teach my team several different methods on how to generate leads for their business from the largest group of people on earth. The ones you don’t know…yet. Today I can share my opportunity with hundreds of people each day. Sure, not everyone will decide to join my team, but that is the same with anything. It is all a numbers game and you need to share what you have to as many people as possible every day.
My system is one step better because it allows them to pre-enroll on my team while they learn more about the products, compensation plan, etc. while I build a team under them to show them that it works. In effect they get to be on the team without actually joining right away. It is like a test drive in a way. I use an email response system that sends the lead a series of emails regularly to help educate and motivate them to learn more and join. Since I have built a team under them that is generating volume, they have something to lose if they don’t join. Hopefully the company you work with has the same thing. If not, you may want to build your own system or join my team and use my system.
I use as many methods as possible to generate leads and I shoot for 20-30 leads per day minimum on average. This will translate into several people joining the team and many of those will end up being business leaders and they will build good size, lucrative businesses that can generate an ongoing residual income.
You have to face the reality that it will take hundreds or thousands of people to join your business team. It takes some time to do that and remember it won’t just be you doing that work. In the beginning it will just be you and me. As you and I build the team, there will be more people like you who duplicate the methods and pretty soon you will have dozens of leaders sharing the products and opportunity to additional 1000’s. The growth starts to accelerate and reaches critical mass.
Give yourself time to be successful
In today’s Amazon.com world we want everything to be instant. We don’t like to wait for anything, even success. Unfortunately, you can’t rush that. You can go faster or slower but you cannot rush it or skip steps. It’s like losing weight. It takes just as long to lose it as it does to gain it. For me it seems it takes much longer to lose than to gain. Success is like that too. You have to build todays for results tomorrow. It will not be instant and everyone starts at a different place, with their skills, knowledge, finances and work ethic.
Earn while you learn
One of the best things about having your own MLM business is that you can learn as you go. You don’t have to know everything before you get started. In fact, you only need to know the basics to get started which take less than one day to learn. I work with all levels of people. Many have never heard of or seen a mlm type business. Some are like me, and have been involved in network marketing in the past.
The bottom line is you can learn to generate leads for your business from the cold market more easily and with more time efficiency than ever before. Since they come to you it is easy to share what you are doing and help them to join your team. I am happy to help you do it, just let me know.
